What sets us apart from other engineering societies?
There are a multitude of engineering clubs and societies at Curtin University for different disciplines, industries or special interests. Curtin Mechanical Society aims to differ from the norm by offering engagement with a broader range of industries. The majority of clubs are focused within traditional industries such as mining and oil & gas. CMS hosts networking events with panelists from emerging industries such as renewable energy and sustainability while also providing guidance into automation, building services, automotive, consulting and many more lesser known pathways.

CMS is also one of very few clubs which offer training and development sessions to its members. With a strong focus on professionalism and academic improvement, our support towards industry applicable skill development is a sure-fire method to improve yourself as an engineer. We will be running sessions during semester which teach students the fundamentals of vital programs used in real world engineering. We also offer sessions targeted towards entering the workplace such as resume building and effective networking. Browse the events tab to see what exciting opportunities we have coming up.
